What We Do
Church Leadership
What is Presbyterian

Who We Are

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (PC-USA) and a member of the Shenandoah Presbytery.

We began as a Chapel in 1915 with the advent of the Buffalo Gap Development Company, an iron ore smelting concern.  The Chapel served primarily as a Sunday School and preaching outpost of Loch Willow Presbyterian Church, who provided the leadership for the Sunday School and worship services.  After many discussions and a process guided by the Presbytery, the Chapel separated from the Loch Willow Church in June 2003.  A Commission was formed in July 2003, resulting in the Chapel becoming a Church and member of Shenandoah Presbytery in 2005.

We are a community Church residing in a growing neighborhood. Our church family is a diverse mixture of people: young and old from north and south, blue-collar and professional, life long Presbyterians and many from other religious backgrounds and traditions.

We are a congregation deeply committed to a vision of God's openness to all people in our wonderful diversity, to the spiritual nourishment of both the head and the heart, and to making a difference in our community and world. Whether you worship with us, seek a spiritual home, yearn to make a difference in your life and community, attend an educational, cultural, or community event, or simply stop by to view the facilities, here you will find a place of hospitality, spiritual nurture, challenge, and energy.
